In 1993, Spectrum established its Correctional Treatment Division to provide specialized treatment to offenders with a history of chronic substance abuse and criminal behavior.   Using a cognitive-behavioral skill building and therapeutic community approach, Spectrum's correctional treatment programs teach participants practical ways to achieve a law abiding life, free from drugs and crime.  Today, Spectrum provides a range of services to more than 6,500 criminal offenders each day, in community-based settings and correctional institutions throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia.

The Lead Clinical Supervisor oversees all clinical activities of the Residential Treatment Program. This position provides direct clinical supervision and training to assigned staff.  This position assists the Program Director in the direct management of all aspects of the program at MCI Shirley Minimum and acts as the director in Program Director's absence.  They also work closely with the Massachusetts Department of Corrections (MA DOC) personnel, other institutional vendors, and off-site Spectrum staff to ensure quality delivery of services according to contractual specifications. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm, with one night per week from 12:00pm-8:00pm.

Qualifications:

  • State Certification as a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) or Licensed Alcohol Drug Counselor (LADC) preferred.
  • Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Education, Counseling or closely related field preferred.
  • Possess exemplary competence in addiction counseling competencies.
  • Two years of supervisory experience in the Chemical Dependency field preferred.
  • Corrections experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
  • Must be able to work 12:00pm-8:00pm periodically.
