Spectrum established its Correctional Treatment Division to provide specialized treatment to offenders with a history of chronic substance abuse and criminal behavior.   Using a cognitive-behavioral skill building and therapeutic community approach, Spectrum's correctional treatment programs teach participants practical ways to achieve a law abiding life, free from drugs and crime. 

The goal of the Restrictive Housing Unit step-down program is to assist in transitioning offenders into general population using cognitive behavioral treatment addressing criminogenic needs such as criminal thinking, violence reduction, and recurrent substance abuse relapse. The targeted population will be medium security offenders transitioning out of segregation.

The assigned counselor will provide cognitive-behavioral treatment addressing social skills, behavioral skills, and reentry into general population. The counselor is responsible for written documentation in the case records, group facilitation, and participating in a multi-disciplinary team meeting.

Hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm

  • BA/MA or equivalent experience in criminal justice, human services, education or closely related field required
  • DOC experience and/or Alcohol/Drug certification preferred
